I now know the feeling of regret
To want to change something so much
You would pay the devil with your soul
If only you could truly forget
The warmth of her beauty, the joy of her touch
And if only you could be in control
Of time and space and death and life
You'd go back and make it all okay
Yeah, if only wishes came true
Then you could erase all of this emptiness and strife
You could wake up and not have to hear them say
She died today and its because of you
Not because of something you said or anything you had done
But rather, your lack of doing something sincere
And making her feel understood and cared for
Yeah, the thought of how empty and totally alone
She felt eats away at you and makes it abundantly clear
That you could have changed this forevermore
But now you live your life in total regret
Darkness gathers around your soul
Guilt burdens your mind endlessly
You go to sleep to try and forget
But your nightmares make you lose all self-control
And you start to lose all of your sanity
There is nothing left for you here
Only heartache and disappointment with despair
You contemplate ending it all, just like her
What do you have left to fear? 
Definitely not death because you just don't care
So you try to be just like her
Only it doesn't work so now you are still here
And she is still gone like a rainbow after the rain
And you can't understand why
You look up to find answers in the stars
But all you find is more sadness and pain
So you go off into a corner and you cry
Cry the tears of sadness, emptiness, guilt and what might have been
If only you had been there when she needed you
Why weren't you there you curse yourself in the mirror
God may well forgive you for this act of sin
But you will never forgive yourself for the things you didn't do
And that makes your purpos on this earth a whole lot clearer
You will never let anyone else become that lonely
You will never let someone else you love slip through
You will never let a friend a die on you because you didn't act
That is the way you will redeem yourself adn that is the only 
Reason you are still on this earth and why you will do
Anything and say whatever it takes to stop someone else and detract
Themselves from ending it all, just like her
