Poem

Husky Hell

I sat for my daughter’s two 
Huskys one busy week.
As the days passed, my ire became
more and more bleak.

The blessings of their company
I tried to extol . . . 
but their manners and actions
were out of my control.

One evening as I opened the 
door to let them in
my thoughts of contempt for them
seemed like such a sad sin.

One dog rushed past where 
the other was trying to go;
in the confusion and chaos . . .  
they broke my big toe.

I hobbled around her home
As I tried to forgive . . .
Never again will I watch them,
As long as I live!

For as soon as I forgave them
For breaking my toe,
the youngest chewed up my 
black bra, extending my woe.

Their muddy little foot prints 
covered her kitchen floor.
When my daughter returned--
I busted my hump to the door.

Greeting her dogs and me with
kisses and a sweet sigh;
“Thank God you are back home
dear!” was my frazzled reply.

Note: This is a totally true happening that occurred to me in Feb. of this year. I love 
dogs but was no match for those two.
