Poem

Water is our infancy, here we are given a name.
Learning to walk, we cry out for a refreshing balm.
Life's currents may be swift or the ripples tame.
In childhood the river of knowledge is never calm.

Earth brings us solidity and soundness of mind.
Into the soil, we use our hands to sow and reap.
Our morals get planted as we meet mankind.
We now find our true love, forever to keep.

Fire is the age to turn smoky eyes to the eternal flame.
Burning bricks, mortar and stones have all stood in our way.
We glance backwards into the embers wanting to cast blame,
That's our burning excuse for the failures we have today.

The last cycle is the most gentle touch of the wind.
The soft breeze falls upon our worried brow at night.
The wind carries our prayers to Heaven and back again.
It's the warm air when an angel appears with a white light.

Water, Earth, Fire and Water are the elements to life.
The cycle existing in harmony, existing in strife.
