what are we
can we be defined
what's our status
what cannot be denied
words can be spoken
and gestures give us signs
but when i say i love you 
can it be defined
we give ourselves emotions
when to laugh and when to cry
but we can't control emotions
they are like wild horses we ride
we give ourselves to pain
to feel deep inside
you cannot say it hurts
but it's harmful to your pride
pride that makes you stand 
when you feel you want to fall
pride that doesn't give up
when you give your all and all
but pride too can be broken
and make us the walking dead
an empty shell upon us
for emotions not being said

don't feel this , don't feel that
and especially don't feel love
don't feel like anything special
just might come from up above
love is just an illusion
that reason cannot tame
tell me: what it is between us,
does it have a name?
can i wish, can i pray
or even dare to hope
can i see it clearly 
if i use a microscope
if i use my feelings
will they prove me wrong
are these words meant for healing
or just another sad sad song
can't i believe in destiny
that seems to come from God
or am i just chasing a dream
and really should move on
my heart it waits for answers
that only you can give
what we have between us
will it die or will it live
