I love watchin the tele.
could sit there til I’m plumb smelly
just sit there eatin p-nut butter and jelly
you’d guess that, just lookin at my belly

my favorite thing is a movie show
I’ll sit there even when I have to go
tho’ I have never had it actually flow
but that is pretty stupid I know

when the sun comes up I’m sittin there
half nappin, half watchin from that chair
I’m sure I’d give it up on a dare
my wife says it’ll take more like a prayer

she’s put up with this for half of her life
it’s caused our counselor mental strife
now he’s so messed up he lost his wife
trouble was he did it with a knife

Now he’s tv’n all night long in jail
I’m sure he’d just as soon go to hell
sittin on concrete burnin his tail
lookin for that electrified third rail.

but, back to me and my story
I’ll soon be on my way to glory
my wife says it’s going to be gory
moppin up my room on the second story

she’s so serious I thought I’d quit
watching tv for quite a bit
I really don’t get a lot out of it
with her constantly pitching such a fit

I thought I would take up making rhyme
it’s sure to take up as much time
she’ll think that it is so sublime
maybe keep ME from committing crime

That’s how I happened onto the soup
I thought it would put me in the loop
Instead I’m writing from within the coop
While slippin and slidin on chicken poop
