Poem
There is too much hypocrisy in our society How can you be saved? You get involved in that game of pretending At first you tell yourself: come on It’s just a game act as if you were in theatre All you have to do is to play a part And then you begin acting like everybody And telling yourself that it’s just a game and nothing else So you go on acting and pretending During the whole process you try to convince yourself that it’s just a game In which you have to perform because you want to be conform to society But one day, you find yourself Trapped inside the boxes of your own society Because you realize that you are more than an actor And the theatre turns out to be reality You lose control because You get used to that game of pretending and hypocrisy You become addicted to that game and unable to make the difference Between reality and fiction You tell yourself wait a minute: “I played and I lost” You were trying to do like everybody because you didn’t want to be isolated You didn’t want to be criticised But at the end you fall into your own trap You find yourself hypocrite Because you didn’t react on time and refuse to be conform You didn’t take your responsibility vis-à-vis your society You were not strong enough to make your own choice You have been weak And here are the consequences You are just like everybody Is there a way for you to be yourself in that kind of society? Are you courageous enough to go against these well established rules of your society? Either to act like everybody and live in peace Or to be true to yourself, assume your choice and then be isolated Which one to choose?
