Poem

Im married to writing 
but I'm cheating on her with music. 
Both of them give me the release I need 
but music is like the light to my cigarette
An ointment made just for my soothing 

My wife likes to block me sometimes 
to the point where there's a big stop sign
enabling the pen from touching the paper.
When we can't see eye to eye 
I leave the cursor blinking 
and turn on my stereo 
Within seconds I am Alice 
squeezing through small doors
And bobbing my head like a toy figurine.    

I am in music's bedroom 
And as the beat began 
it raps itself around me luxuriously
like a new mink coat.
And way after were done 
I keep humming her song 
because it's stuck in my head,

I arrive home to writing 
only to see the blanking cursor still waiting for me
blinking tentatively like a wife tapping her feet 
waiting for an explanation.

I caress her, and make sweets words appear. 
Soon the cursor is going down
and the white on the page is no longer empty.
Instead we merge, her heart to my mind, 
my mind to her heart until we develop
our daughter which can now be called
my first novel. 

This is why she's my wife 
because she's takes away the empty and the hallow. 
She's shows me how to take this roller coaster ride I'm on   
and turn it into a amusement park. She is my blackboard, I am the chalk. 
I like being the chalk. Music is just a recreational activity, writing is my heart.
