Poem
The time may wither away and pass, And so it will without unneeded warning. Marking us, Claiming us as their own, Youth of a time that we knew so well, A time that we called home. These are the years that will make us who we are. I wish I knew this, That life does go on, When I thought my whole world was falling apart. This is the moment that will scar you, Don't doubt it or reject it, You will only grow and thrive because of failure. Believe it, Take it from someone who has been there. The greatest of times will be the best of your life, And the bad times will be hell, But with crippling intention, You defy and stand up tall again, For never are you planned to fall in such times of great sorrow, You were meant to rise and live. These are the years that will set us up for what is next, And how we take it, Embrace it, Comes from the previous, A picture painted in liquid metal that's solid in time. These are the years we will miss, One day when we are old and grey, Smiling in spite and remembering trouble that used to come our way, Missing it almost, Wanting it back..it gave us obvious purpose, To be so alive and feverous over the little things, To be so dead and immobile doesn't seem serene, But rather yet without meaning, Not like it's supposed to be. Live in this moment, Give all that you can, Love until you lose yourself, Cry until you put rivers and lakes to a watery grave of shame, Walk a thousand miles to be where you're supposed to, Take into account that you are human and you have the power to do what you can. But at the end of the day a man is only a man. Clocks only tick for so long until they are replaced. We don't have forever, This is our time and place. Let's run and strive, Let's hold on to hope and survive, Smile darling, you're alive. Remember and cherish, Try not to harbor such hatred. These are the years that can take us so many places.
