Poem
Oh Great Spirits that be How hard you been working on me Such a comfort when one is hurting Yet also at times such a burden All the work yet to be done Looking to you for that setting sun Spirits to guide us along the way And then let us know it's time to end the day Simple life. Simple mind But the open absorbing kind How you've wished they all knew that call How the Spirit world has a hold of us all Open eyes that can't help but see What the Spirit world has in store for thee Can see the strong and feel the weak All along begging for the wisdom to know when to speak Can hear the whispers all around And it does no good to try and stand my ground Most times looking crazy for knowing Too much of the Spirit world and it's comings and goings Wretched sometimes the things to have aware Worse when no one else seems to care But somehow the Spirits keep working around The many brick walls in the path that get thrown down Along the way by and by It was no longer my business to question why Teach, heal, speak out they keep telling me Until the last breath and you can no longer breath Try to go on beleiving we have some sort of control But still searching for that peace deep down in our souls How it happens or why it matters not Once the Spirits that be have found that spot Best listen and heed the Spirits that be Already tried running thinking I'd be free But somehow they always catch up to you and I Creeping right straight to that inward eye Now I know I'm crazy but haven't lost my mind Acceptance gives a peaceful feeling that's kind And it matters not what burdens we're chosen to bear Once all's said and done and we're off to somewhere Only then will we begin to start The passage that matters and leads straight to the heart In the midst to feel no kind of pain Never to know suffering or hurt once again Try so hard to rise above it all The Spirits that be and answer the call When I'm weak and all seems so wrong How they come to sing me yet another song Oct 2009
