Poem
Ones who are blessed and don't even know it Feeling the love but too frightened to show it Courage comes in all multitudes of ways And so much will be needed toward the end days But sometimes the bravery it requires to carry on Can often make one feel they've gloriously won When in reality there's no real reason to smile And all alone they'll walk that last mile Call upon the surgeon with such a sharp knife Foolishly thinking never again to feel pain in this life Up ahead, around the bend, on down the broken road So many turns to choose from which way should it go Feel a presence running alongside ever so hard Then trip on the clothesline lying across the yard Stopped dead in the tracks like hitting a brick wall See the scraped hands that protected the fall Refuse to continue while laying on the ground Willing again to ride the horseless merry go round The tools so needed to aknowledge the pain Thrown away so long ago during the pouring rain Searching in vain for answers from without Through so many years of questions and self doubt Reject knowing it was deep inside all along A conscious decision to test the resolve Continue to fight against the spirit world While looking into the eyes of that little girl Like a snap it came out of the darkness Something familiar you see in the likeness That for so long was no where to be found So far out of reach buried deep under ground Reliving the left turns taken so habitually wrong Trying to create your own words to the song Still yearning to find out that knowledge you see But the words to the song do not come for free Unwordly things known deep down to exist Just so many wretched turns and twists Not for mere humans like you and I To question the spirits or even ask them why They really are expecting us to just go along Even if what seems like an eternity all went so wrong Keep digging even deeper, way deep down inside Beyond the tough and utterly foolish pride Find a reason not to take that last leap of faith Keeping that last place forbidden to be raped Word is we all have freedom of choice Scream so loud till there is no more voice Attempting to awaken the sleeping fool Scream louder when all along deep inside are the tools To dig so much deeper and then much more than that Keeping courage not to give up or throw in the hat That's for cowards and for those who are weak So look to the soul for answers wide and deep
