Poem
'Twas a creepy, delightful, suspicious domain near exact to my home but too clean to explain. All the dishes were done and they winked with great charm as the coffee pot chirped with a welcome alarm. As intrigued as I was I just couldn't accept that some kind elfin creature had come while I slept so I ran up the stairs and back down and I then ran through bathrooms and bedrooms; to the kitchen again. But the laundry was laundered and tucked in discreet and the robes and the towels were all hanging so neat! All the beds were quite tidy, but no little heads were there lulling in silly dreams, wraped in the spreads. So I searched the place over, in every small nook but my children were nowhere, no place that I looked! I spun 'round in small circles, the tidiness loomed and then opened the closet; where cleaning things roomed... and just what to my mystified eyes should appear but four rascals asleep amidst cleansers and gear with a glitter and sparkle about the whole gang and a clothes pin pinched onto a note so it'd hang. And it said: "We had mopped and we'd swept and we spit and we shined and these things that you keep in your house were behind as they threw things and messed things and broke things in tow and the faster we tried the more quickly they'd go! Oh, they chased us and shook us and caused a great fuss and we couldn't contain all our magical dust! 'Twas a mess I'll assure you, a miserable scene for we came here through wishes you made when you dreamed. Oh, our mission was simple, a triffling thing, we'd enchant your utility closet and bring them to life every night so your castle was kempt but these messy, mean creatures made all plans exempt! With our magic all over, a filmy dull mess and those things all asleep; quite exhausted I guessed we had figured that leaving could only be done then those things started moving... one monster by one! It's a shame but I have to admit, that we hid out of fear as we watched everything that they did! Well they fixed all the damage and shined the whole place with their eyes half asleep and sweet dreams on each face! So I fear my dear woman these mean things that you keep are now destined to clean up whenever they sleep! Though we've countered the magic they stole from our stores and they won't do much more than their everyday chores! So I'm off to my homeland and promise we'll not come back into this place to face your odd lot! The Adroit Elves of Dreams
