Poem

once my heart was frozen, frozen until i saw his smile. he, he was the sunshine. i knew it the 
moment i saw his eyes. and i melted, slowly, not slow enough i melted. i thought that my 
walls were made of brick, i found they were really made of snow. beneath his gaze they 
washed away. once again i felt myself, the heat between our touch. but it must be snatched 
away from me. i once wondered at the taste of light, brilliant warmth. i found it in the fleeting 
moments our lips touched, i found it. alighting my soul. citrus warmth, it lit me afire. the 
bitter cold was no match for the sun. i was walking in the winter, i saw his face, heard his 
voice, and found myself in the spring. the world melts with me. now so alone, told that my 
hopes were falsitys, by one so close to him. i shiver. no longer do i feel him. so fast i fall, so 
fast so far. now it is time for me to hit the ground. face first and i hope i do not get up. see 
the laughing glares. foolish foolish girl. my heart was once warm, warmed by him. the light. 
but now i am again in darkness. now it is again covered in ice. this time i must re-inforce my 
walls. no longer will i make snow forts, i will prepair myself for my inner war. bring me the 
mortar.
