Poem

"Out of the blue of the western sky, comes Sky King'"
Each Saturday morning we heard the same thing.
A kid's T.V. show, back in the 50's.
At that time, we thought it was "nifty."

A western ranch owner who had his own plane,
And with his teenage daughter and hired hand,
Would in each episode, rescue someone from danger,
(Though most of the victims were total strangers')

Flights to the city for some medical need,
Taught little kids how to be compassionate indeed.
Maybe they brought some runaway home.
Someone unable to make it on his own.

Perhaps they were searching for some prisoner on the run,
Justice always triumphed when the show was done.

This program has been replaced by numerous others,
That try to teach kids to hate their brothers.
And today, you can't describe the perversion you see,
If you sit down to watch Saturday morning T.V.

Yet the Word of God has never changed,
Tho' the world we live in considers it strange.
"Love God and your neighbor" are principles it teaches,
And His love still can change each heart that it reaches'
His word foretells us that He's coming again.
To rule and to reign over all men.

Take time to get you heart ready today;
You can stop right now, and kneel down and pray,
"Cause it won't be long 'Til we hear the cry:
"Out of the blue, in the east, comes the King of the Sky'"
