what am I? you ask 
I am nothing you would understand
you live in a completely different world than me
I am nothing at all really
for that’s what a vampire is
I am nothing so I must find something
something to cure the thirst
something to ease the torment I go through
my life is not what you think
how could anyone envy what I have?
envy the long sleepless and lonely nights?
or the torture of that horrible thirst?
envy the burning flesh in the sun?
what is there you find so fascinating about me?
I am nothing but darkness and pain
my life is lonely and long
and full of disbelief
disbelief of myself and by others
it's not fun it's not glamorous
my life is a day to day struggle
a struggle with no one but myself
and that dammed thirst for blood
for energy, the force that will keep me going
and without it I won't die
for death is to fitting an escape
instead I will suffer pain and loneliness
this is my life, nothing to envy here
nothing here but emptiness to be filled
