You said goodnight a little too slow,
Eyes on the door, not mine anymore.
Coffee went cold, silence grew loud,
I didn’t notice the drifting cloud.

But love doesn't leave like lightning,
It fades like the evening sun—
And now I'm staring at the pieces,
Asking where it all went wrong.

I should've seen it coming,
In the way you stopped the smile.
I should’ve heard the silence
That echoed every mile.
The signs were painted clearly
In the corners of your eyes—
I should’ve seen it coming,
But I believed your lies.

Laughed through the cracks, played every part,
Ignored the tremble in your heart.
I held on tight to what was gone,
