Poem
Jab so gaye, tab kho gaye, tere khayal-khwaab mein, Bikhri hui si reh gayi, ek rooh intezaar mein. Murjhaaye the phool jab, sooraj tha dhal gaya, Kisi ke na hone ka farq, titli ko pata chal gaya. Chup chaap raat ke pehlu mein, kuch aansuon ki baat thi, Na tu tha, na main rahi, phir bhi teri hi yaad thi. Hum safar mein hain, humsafar nahi, Paa sake nahi kuch, khone ka ab dar nahi. Jitne taare us chaand ke hain, kaash utne hi tum mere hote, Jitni yeh boondein un badlon ki hain, kaash utne hi hum tere hote. Taaki mere hone na hone ka farq tum par nahi padta, Aur tumhare na hone par mera wajood hi mit jaata. Translation--- Soft red rays touched the sand, Like memories slipping through my hand. Dark clouds wished to hide the light, Like holding back a fading night. There were moments we let go, Ones that still in silence flow. The ones who were never mine to keep, Now live in memories buried deep. There’s something unsaid in the air tonight, A quiet thought, a fading light. A little warmth, a little storm, A heart that waits to be reborn. Say something, I’m here to hear, My soul is aching, standing near. Like boats that float then drift apart, We cross each other, heart to heart. When I slept, I lost you there, In dreams, you stayed, but not elsewhere. My soul remained, broken and still, Just waiting with a quiet will. The flowers drooped, the sun went down, And silence spread all through the town. A butterfly felt something was wrong The one it loved was truly gone. In the night's still arms I cried, Even when you weren’t by my side. You weren’t there, I wasn’t too, Yet all I felt was thoughts of you. We walked the path but not as one, We tried, but love had come undone. We held on, but nothing stayed, And now, there’s nothing left to be afraid. As many stars as moonlight keeps, I wish you'd been mine in just as deep. As many drops the clouds let free, I wish I was yours, just as much as they’d be. "So you’d feel nothing if I was there or not, But without you, I’d forget all I ever was."
