i see the way you smile at me,
like you're reaching through the quiet.
but every time i try to speak,
my heart retreats in riot.
i’m standing here with open hands,
but haunted by the weight of plans.

i don't want to break
what hasn't even started yet.
every heartbeat feels like
walking on a thread.

'cause i'm afraid to make mistake,
to say too much or not enough.
to fall too fast or pull away
from something we could call love.
you feel like more than i can fake,
but i’m afraid to make mistake.

you talk like stars are second skin,
and i believe in everything.
but i’ve been burned, i’ve been unsure—
my past still whispers, never pure.
and yet your touch undoes the ache,
if only i would let it break.

so close, i start to shake—
this fear is stitched into my name.
i try to laugh it off
but it still sounds the same.

'cause i'm afraid to make mistake,
to ruin something soft and true.
to hold too tight or drift away
from someone just like you.
my every move feels high-stake,
'cause i’m afraid to make mistake.

but maybe love was never clean—
just honest hearts and in-between.
so if you’ll stay through all my doubt,
i swear i’ll learn to let it out.

i may be scared to make mistake,
but staying silent hurts much more.
so here i am, a little late—
but not afraid of love no more.
if we both tremble, let it shake—
we’re not afraid to make mistake.
