He stares anywhere but my eyes
But boys will be boys and he's just a guy
I should smile and be happy
Because it means he likes what he sees
That's all that should matter to me
I shouldn't be greedy

Little girl, little girl
You don't know much about the real world
But little girls in this world learn faster and faster as numbers rise
and they get catcalled by guys

But things always change
Things always range
It starts with a whistle and a wink
Then things you couldn't even bare to think...

"She was only 14"
Is this where we've come to?
What do you mean?
That's too young
You all knew
Don't play dumb

That's too young even if she was ten years older
No one deserves to remember those handprints left cold below her shoulder
"But what was she wearing?"
How aren't you caring!
She was 14 for God's sake
With her friends at a dance
But her skirt was too short and her shirt went too low for him to keep it in his pants

He says "She was asking for it"
When did those words leave her lips?
Was it between "no more" and "stop it"?
Her heels were tall and her shirt was tight
But that does not give you the right

We know this should stop but the question is when
How many more will have to suffer through it

Girls are made of steel these days
We will not so easily bend to your ways
I wrote this to remind
We need to go back to being kind
