Poem
I understood your silence, the weight you carried in your soul like an old and relentless burden, The battles you fought behind closed doors, like storms raging in the depths, The nights when sleep eluded you, like a fleeting shadow, and the mornings when you rose again, steadfast, I knew the trials that left deep scars, the wounds that never healed with time. I knew the reasons you flinched at love, like a butterfly afraid of a flame too bright, And if I hadn’t understood all this, I could not have loved you as I did, with all my heart, Not to fix you, but to hold everything the world continued to break without mercy, Like a porcelain vase that retains its beauty even when divided into pieces. I loved you because I saw in you a universe of feelings and dreams, hidden under a veil of silence, Because I felt the pain in every smile and the light in every tear that fell down your cheek, I understood that love is not to banish your fears, but to embrace them together, like falling stars, To find beauty in imperfections and rediscover ourselves in the shards of past days. And in this uninterrupted flow of thoughts and emotions, I rediscovered the peace of an embrace, A place where the burdens of the world become lighter, like a lullaby that lulls the night shadows to sleep, Because our love is not a remedy, but a refuge, a home built from hopes and dreams, And so, we will walk together through the seasons of life, holding hands like in an eternal promise.
