Poem
trees tremble, quietly in the laughter of sweet winds leaves rustling, waltzing, twisting through the fresh noon gentleness abiding in my spirit, the stirrings of a hesitant dream… predictions of glowing silence in the moonlight whimsical stars, breaking through the heat of a star sprinkled night, where my heart remembers silvery peppered skies, during the times when I felt more than I heard, more than I dreamed more than I knew or voiced – my silence seemed like a simple shadow, fading melting away the melancholy, the music melodies pouring from my guitar strings notes like softest dreams, resting on my wings, embracing the joy that comes from knowing you’re alive with a sudden stirring, in the soul the spirit battling all the forces who want control as they remind you to tune the grey from each cloud forcing innocence from the notes, peace from the wonders, the stories feelings come to pour out their soothing, quietly mesmerizing, hypnotic, restoring blessings so alive they seem to grow in the heat of a sunrise, the morning lost amid butterflies and blooms, hasty words reflecting the music in a summer thought, the beautiful in hearts who know only one thing, to love with a love that is innocent and pure, a love that comes from breathing in the sweet cinnamon scent of light and joy the unending hope… comprised of letting go of the lonely notes lost amid the colors of yesterday’s prayers secrets in lavender and scented like lilac buds on the spring’s breath, lessons in healing – so revealing what it means to give away more than we keep more light, more grace, more tears more than the faded memories love, pangs of intimacy wherever we weep, we see the need to believe – just believe as the new wears away at the rusty exterior of my sounds, my tears, my stories something emerges from the autumn’s lingering a reminder of what it means to leave the worry leave the lonesome and discover the wholeness of light, life, love…. this is the song of a still shadow leaving behind its rhythm, details in believing a heart, a soul, a spirit trembling, seeking seeing… the river’s gentle pace, after the tears fade after the silence penetrates after the night stays and my prayer creates a conversation between love and faith, hope that lasts hope that suggests… He is here – He never passed He was always here and I know, at last the love that never ends, it just grows and grows so I forever know – where He is… that is home, the place where I’m free the place where I’m whole the place where I know satisfaction – deep down in my soul intrusive thoughts bleed from my pen the empty page, fertile ground for me the stillness of a front porch swing where my heart agrees, there is love that succeeds in destroying the doubt in me in restoring the belief so I see whatever comes, He’s here with me and He hears me… oh, Lord, please don’t ever leave!
