Poem
2012 – The year I was born, soft and new, unaware of the world’s weight, but full of possibility, a blank page waiting for the first mark. 2013 – Wobbly legs, clumsy steps, everything felt enormous, yet I was fearless, learning the rhythm of movement. 2014 – Words just beyond reach, but my eyes spoke in ways my mouth couldn't yet understand, asking questions in silence. 2015 – Laughter echoed in the rooms, simple things brought endless joy— a toy, a hug, the soft warmth of familiarity. 2016 – Wonder filled every corner, questions bubbling up like secrets, the world felt vast, and I wanted to touch every part of it. 2017 – Hands to guide me, but I started taking my own steps, discovering that the world was both exciting and overwhelming, and sometimes, that was okay. 2018 – Learning to say "no" and meaning it, learning that the power of choice could shape the world around me. 2019 – New friendships, new beginnings, moments of connection that filled the spaces between the days, feeling like I wasn’t alone in the vastness of everything. 2020 – The world stopped, a pause that I couldn’t understand, but I learned to reach out in new ways— through screens, through letters, through hearts that still beat, even from far away. 2021 – Returning, but with caution, the world felt quieter, and I started learning how to exist in the stillness, realizing that being alone didn’t mean being lost. 2022 – The pieces of the past slowly coming together, a year of self-discovery, growing into someone I was starting to recognize, learning that growth doesn’t always shout; sometimes, it whispers. 2023 – I fell in love, a quiet, unexpected shift in the way the world felt— everything softer, more certain, like the missing piece finally clicked into place. It wasn’t the grand gesture I had imagined, but a quiet knowing that I had found someone who saw me, and who I wanted to see, every day. 2024 – Love became a part of me, intertwined with who I was, and I learned that love isn’t just about feeling, but about growing together, in all the messy, beautiful ways we do. 2025 – Still unfolding, still discovering, still becoming, but now with someone by my side, learning that love, like life, is a journey, and I’m ready for whatever comes next.
