Poem
Mother's day' a day to relax. Breakfast in bed, maybe later a nap. Waited on; doted on;every need met. Queen for the day; and yet......, There's a chunk of reality which is called "life," And you rarely escape the duties of mother and wife' So your day may not totally resemble the DREAM, But be sure your family holds you in high esteem. Mothers are precious, mothers are fun; Every person alive was given one' Can you imagine having no mother at all? No one to hug you or respond to your call' No one to give you wise words of advise, Or show interest in your pet snakes or mice? How dull life would be if you had none, Of the female persuasion to call you "daughter" or "son," Who would help you dry your tears, Or check if you washed behind your ears? Who would teach you sewing, cooking, and such? Show how to arrange flowers with the feminine touch? What about patiently teaching reading and writing, And kissing the scrapes you got while fighting? Some mothers stay with us into our older age. Sadly some leave to explore some new page. But biologically speaking, we all had a mom; Our navel reminds us of whom we came from. With a single exception, mothers gave us birth, And that individual was created from Earth. I tell you, sir; I tell you madam. The man with no mom- his name was Adam' Arthur Ball (H.S.L.P.)
