Hebrews 13:5 “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Genesis 19:26 "But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt." Somedays, I don’t feel Your presence the gentle of Your light, whispering flowing over my spirit, erasing all the menacing memories, tempting me to worry the ache of a past who hurts… is it worth looking back – daunting, depressing, disheartening the fears, the tears, all those years before I felt You writing beautiful into my story, my life’s narrative before I knew that You would always be with me, breathing light over my worst doubts, my worst dread, the worst I’ve been. Somedays, I don’t feel You the way I yearn to walking beside me the way You walked with Adam the way You walked with Abraham the way You walked with Israel silencing every shadow with Your steady light, Your wonder freeing the heart who feels lost, offering grace and forgiveness offering a joy that only comes from knowing YOU. Somedays, I don’t FEEL YOU yet I still know You’re with me guiding, inspiring, writing the story of my life, the story that is mine because You saved me from the worst strife You filled me with hope and a purpose – to shine Your light, Your gentle light, glows from my heart, my soul because You took the pen from my hand and helped my soul to begin again writing the story that only You could have planned writing the story that comes from knowing, You’re there even when my fears tell me that You’ve left me alone through it all, I know… You’re still writing each verse… each stanza, a light, reflecting what it means to love without fear, to love because You’re here to love unconditionally, generously, selflessly to love because You’re with me, always a light to fulfill me always so bright – so vivid Your pen, it keeps writing… so I’m sure Even when I don’t feel You there beside me there isn’t a doubt that You’re still writing!
