Poem
Sometimes – many times I’m busier than I would like to be, I find myself hurrying through the days as they pass by, laughing at my scurrying like a squirrel, they say – hustling but should I hurry this way? Sometimes, many times I’m focused more on the pay than the miracles wonders surrounding me, the music of the wind in the trees the beautiful skies, blushing pink and indigo – silent as the memories who twist through me… Sometimes – many times I’m caught up in work, earning a living, a life, a lesson in giving – surviving the yesterdays who trail behind me, shadowlike worrying me as they haunt each silence, blowing through my soul, in notes of jasmine scented whispers… Sometimes, many times I’m frozen in the story, this journey breaking my heart, remembering what I felt when the loneliest tears, like dewdrop candy slowly easing their way from my eyes, sorrowful – wondering why they’re alive, a story of melancholy, a story of fear a story that longs to be told as it sings in my ear… Sometimes – many times I’m the castoff, the burden the distant prayer fading into the season is this autumn who chooses for me to hear the distant praise of pine and star? wherever the light falls blending the darkness into gray fading like satiny truth beyond the season, so sure where shall I meet with faith? Sometimes, many times I’m seeking, searching, reaching beyond my understanding is this empathy, playing over my spirit? singing life through me in notes of grace, hints of praise wherever I meet His miracle a truth seeps from me a mystery, burning through me will He send His angel to enlighten me? Prove to me the gospel’s reassurance? Sometimes – many times I’m a burning need focused only on the distant breeze, the gentling, peace flowing on the edges of my sanity music dwelling in my serenity foretelling of a joy that is beyond my wildest dreams, joy from knowing… Sometimes, many times He’s blessing me – Oh, God as I seek, for Thee hold onto the wonder the breathless promise of love that never leaves love so alive it is still as the color of light it sings, blessing away it is mine – here and now and in the afterlife, where He will hold my hand and tell me that love lasts forever, with Him full of praise – singing, honoring the love that is beyond words, the love that is often heard in the music of His voice telling me I have a choice… Sometimes – many times I make the choice – I decide to follow the Savior the Creator of life this man, Jesus, who gave me light so that I can see beyond the night to the eternal where love is so bright where hope is so sure where faith is so true – sometimes, I find that this life brings me sorrow and strife, but with Jesus beside me I know the answer and I decide to CHOOSE LIFE… He is my light *Be glad that you’ve walked with courage each day, Be glad you’ve had strength for each step of the way. *Rice, Helen Steiner; Snapdragon Group, Rebecca Currington. Little Daily Graces: A Celebration of Thankfulness (Helen Steiner Rice Collection) (p. 152). Barbour Publishing, Inc.. Kindle Edition.
