Crack kills and that’s no joke!
It once killed my pocket broke
As my luggage wheel struck the sidewalk crack
And my worn-out heel cracked outback!
I wibbled-wobbled on a cracked low-pump heel

As a zoo waddling seal!
I took a tumble to the ground
Onto the soiled and grassy ground
And, as I fell, I cracked my nail
The pain flushed me pail!
Cracks – cracks – all these cracks
On roadsides, sidewalks, and bicycle tracks
And, can I have you believe, I heard a crack
On a duck’s resounding “Quack! Quack! Quack”
When I sat by a pond in the park
Once late evening before it went dark?
Glass…Glass…Glass…. are all prone to crack!
When shattered debris have been sacked
They can cut through a janitor’s sack
Even through fingers when passing one’s hand
And through one’s bare-foot in the sand!
Whether you pass your skin-covered fingers on the crack
Or lift uncarefully tid-bit pieces of glass that has cracked
Whether you stumble on an uneven roadside crack
Chip a nail creating a single-fingered nail-crack

Or should come across a hoarse lame duck’s “Quack! Quack! Quack!”
Or should laugh SO HARD you “crack” yourself up
As you sip your hot chocolatey marshmallowy cup
And hold your stomach until it hurts and feels it’s about to burst
Should one even DARE TO smoke the actual “crack”
The truth remains and never fails to “CRACK” itself through:
