Poem
Phoebe and her brother and sisters loved to play, like capricious wind; And many robust children lived nearby, like green nature, an old friend. The Clarks lived in town, like turquoise neptune, in caramel sun orbit; And also relied upon retiring early, to enable early rising. Dewy carpets! Father worked daily in the factory, while Mother was a proficient artist, Who created magic, colorful abstracts; like darkest nights of stardust! Flawed, russet sky wept freely all night, to the dismay of fallen flowers; Yet, morning offered friends and fun, and powdery clouds, after showers. Fruitful fall days were full of fancy, as family ferried a plethora of colors, To continue expressions of a full-time love, like sun, peeking in shutters. They lived in the house of whimsy, where the mood was ever changing; Like modest blooms, of many a hue, each signature scent, unchanging. Time stood still, in silken robes of night, on a starlit street of suddenly; Where echoes of children's laughter sounded, or birds whispered subtly. Day and night lived in neutrality, at the edges of dusk and notable dawn, When neatnik neighbors came to visit, as red flowers played on the lawn. 'Desert sunrise' blooms woke in a fever, as bees adored 'tangerine beauty;' And 'verrone's obsidian dahlia' shone darkly, like most treasured jewelry. 'Singing in the Rain' peonies danced, when 'New York night' hit the town; And 'raspberry splash lungwort' got drenched, when no one was around. Phoebe and her siblings went to bed early, on an even of the super moon; But, found it hard to drift to sleep, for bright moonlight, flooded the room. Much later, they could hear laughter, and curiously looked out the window; To see their friends excitedly playing, in the pearly moonlight down below. How could they resist the fun? That sweet temptation was just too much! They crept down to join their playfellows, like vivid rainbow keeps in touch. Secretly, Mother painted an abstract, of the children playing that midnight, In the blissful joy of innocent childhood. The sight gave many others delight! 'Girls and boys come out to play The moon doth shine as bright as day Leave your supper, and leave your sleep And join your playfellows in the street. Come with a whoop, and come with a call Come with a good will or not at all Up the ladder and down the wall A penny loaf will serve you all. Girls and boys come out to play The moon doth shine as bright as day Leave your supper, and leave your sleep And join your playfellows in the street.'
