Poem
Loss and Triumph You will always be the deepest part of me Though I may but rarely pass to see How life affects you, how it makes you grow If you fail or prosper, will I know? Forgive my having to leave you here, My heart's whole hope, my children dear. Cruel circumstance has forced my hand To pursue my fate in a foreign land To which I dare not take you, so thus I leave You to another's care In hopes that they may spare You from such troubles I may face, To raise you in a happier place Until such time as fate may grant me to return To reclaim that for which I'll ever yearn - To you, my darlings, whom I shall never forsake Though distance part us far and wide, Within my heart you are by my side Until that day, whenever it may break, That brings us back together, That seals us close, forever. Yet now a new day comes; I return to you, my precious ones Against all odds, against all fates I return to you, that once again We may share the suns Of future days together free of pain, Rejoice in how long patience waits To deliver us from our darkest days To give us back our wonts and ways, Time has changed us all through its duress; Marked us with each days' distress Yet through it all you remain my dears, So now it so shall be for all our coming years.
