Poem
Wouldn't it be so beautiful to begin each day Where our first breaths are each other? The sun through the blinds warming our skin The sweet air of you filling my lungs Relishing in being interwoven together Just five more minutes, five more times Couldn't we run away hand in hand And let our feet carry us wherever they may? Couldn't we be any place on earth In any climate, in any country And the most spectacular sight would still be the way we look at each other? Couldn't our love move mountains and part seas And sprout new life and emanate its own rays of warmth? What need do we have for money and material When we are swimming in a wealth of pure, unadulterated bliss Simply to be in our own company? I know I haven't met you But I can already see your eyes How they trap me and transport me to a timeless place I can already feel how they level me Both quickening and slowing my heartbeat in the same moment I know I haven't met you But I can already taste your lips on mine Even in the early morning they are the sweetest honey to ever dance across my tongue All of my nerves and neurons firing at top speeds No matter how many times you kiss me I know I haven't met you But I can already feel your skin Soft and warm under my fingertips I can already feel my palms sliding over every curve and contour of you Fulfilling the lifelong urge to touch the art in museums Because I have a masterpiece right here with me I know I haven't met you But I can already hear your laugh More infectious than any contagion Lighting up all spaces surrounding you Shooting 5,000 cc’s of dopamine directly into my veins The rush reminding me how blessed I am To have met a soul like you So please my love, I beg you Hurry to me I know our paths are laid out Written in the stones that line our walkways But if you could walk quickly If you could stretch towards me as I stretch towards you If you could jump into my arms as we meet and wrap yourself around me I could promise to live all of my days in devotion to you I could promise to follow you anywhere if you'll let me Let me learn how to love you Let me cherish you in every way you've dreamed of Let me cook your favorite meals and rub your shoulders after long days Let me wash your back and lace your shoes Let me carry you when you're weak and cheer for you at every milestone Let us build a home together To live out our life worth living Let us start each day Breathing each other in The sun through the blinds warming our skin
