Poem
In the shadows of a fading room, Lies a heart, a fragile thread in gloom. Time, the thief, steals moments away, Leaving whispers of love in decay. Bridges once burned now smolder and twist, Ropes set ablaze, memories we missed. The laughter of children, like ghosts in the night, Flickers and fades, lost from our sight. In the depths of shadows, I stand alone, A heart burdened by sins, a weight of stone. Unforgivable mistakes, etched deep in my skin, Each breath a reminder of the battles within. They see a facade, a liar’s cruel game, While truth gnaws at me, igniting the shame. Each day a struggle, a fight to survive, In the hell I’ve crafted, I barely feel alive. I wander this chasm, devoid of all light, Yearning for solace, but lost in the night. With each haunting echo, I drown in regret, A soul stripped of color, a life full of debt. In the shadows I dwell, where light dares not tread, A past full of ashes, where hope has all fled. Each choice a dagger, each word a sharp knife, I’ve carved out my fate, cutting deep into life. I’ve shattered the bonds with those I held dear, Their trust turned to dust, replaced by cold fear. Every bridge that I built, now crumbles in flames, A landscape of loss, where I bear all the blame. Not seeking the victim, but pain’s heavy toll, Yet trust is a ghost, and I’ve lost all control. So here I remain, in this darkness I’ve sown, A prisoner of memories, forever alone. With no soul left to guide me, no path to reclaim, I wander through silence, consumed by my shame. Yet in the silence, a voice calls me near, A song of resilience, cutting through fear. “Embrace every scar, let the ashes ignite, For from the destruction, Mama, we rise to the light.” Despair wraps around me like chains forged in fire, Yet for her, my daughter, I claw through the mire. She’s the flicker of light in my darkest night, The reason I tether myself to the fight. In this tortured existence, I seek to atone, To mend every fracture, to carve a new throne. For the love of my child, I’ll battle the pain, And find my redemption in the love that remains. So with matches in hand, I’ll light up the ropes, Burn every bridge to uncover my hopes. Let the flames rise high, let the embers take flight, To see who remains in the glow of the night. In the heat of the moment, truths will unfold, The warmth of true loyalty, the brave and the bold. For those who endure, who rise from the spark, Will gather around me, igniting the dark. For in burning the bridges, I’ll clear out the lies, And discover the hearts that refuse to disguise. As the fire consumes, I’ll watch the flames dance, Revealing the faces of those who still chance. Who dares to sit at my table of pain, When ashes are scattered and nothing remains? In the wreckage of choices, I stand in the ash, Haunted by echoes of love turned to trash. Each decision a flame, each word a sharp knife, I’ve carved out my solitude, as I start this new life.
