Poem
I step through the door of death tonight, A whispering void, a quit flight. Beyond the pain beyond the tears, An end to all my silent fears. The world behind. fades to a blur, A life ungrasped, a ceaseless stir. The weight of sorrow left behind, In the dark peace, a truth I find. No more the mask, no more the lies, No more the countless, empty tries. In this new realm, I cease to be, A shadow lost in eternity. The echoes of my life grow faint, A distant past, a smudged complaint. In this cold, final, fleeting breath, I find release in the arms of death. The door swings shut, a silence end, No more to break, no more to mend. I am but dust, a drifting mote, In the vastness of a timeless float. No more the struggle, no more the strife, No more through the door of death tonight, Into the darkness, out of sight. Step through the door of death, they say, A passage to another day. Where shadows melt and silence reigns, And freedom comes from life’s harsh chains. A threshold crossed, a final breath, In solitude, I meet my death. No more the tears, no more the pain, No more the endless, futile strain. The world behind, a distant cry, A fleeting glance, a last goodbye. The weight of years, the wounds so deep, Now laid to rest, in endless sleep. No fears to haunt, no dreams to shatter, in death’s embrace, does it all matter? A peace unknown in life’s cruel game, In death I seek to end the shame. A door ajar, the light is dim, I step within, I plunge, I swim. Through waters dark, through shadows cold, In death a story new unfolds. A quiet peace, a gentle sigh, In this embrace, I learn to fly. No longer bound by earthly strife, I find my rest, my afterlife. Step through the door of death, they say, To where the night turns into day. In this abyss, I find my peace, In death, the endless struggles cease.
