Poem

I often wonder who I am,

Born a little boy but raised to a man,

Many obstacles impeded my way,

However, my faith in the Lord leads me to pray.

 

Dear Lord, did you hear me as a young boy when I cried,

I do remember calling onto you that night when I thought I would die,

You sent your Angel to come sweep down upon me,

And with your grace and wisdom you allowed me to open my eyes to see.

 

To see the finest things I was missing in life,

To make me take back my statement that I did not want a wife,

And to show me that there were more things to focus on than just wearing gold,

It was you my Lord that my eyes had opened wide to behold!

 

You watched me like a hawk and guided me through as my savior,

And because of you my Lord I have change my ways and also my behavior,

I now rarely sit down and reminisce on my past,

My mind is focus so I’m keeping my world in a tighter grasp!

 

I have walked on my feet for many miles and for many years,

And the death of Tennyson still bring me to tears,

So Satan you’re the one who best beware,

Because my Lord the Savior is watching out and his eyes are everywhere!

 

I don’t often attend church just to reverence in the fellowship,

However, my body is my temple, my church where I go to do my worship,

So don’t stick your nose up at me because you get dress up every Sunday,

Because no matter what you wear I shall still get out of my bed to pray!

 
I now know the righteous ways as my evils ways are now deceased,

Because thinking in those devil ways are now against my belief,

I want nothing more than to go to bed in a stay of tranquil and not one full of grief,

And because of you Lord I’m now a King and not a thief!
