Poem
It wasn’t fiction, though they call it God’s story It was more than a word, though His word I can feel It wasn’t a feeling, though it felt like real glory It was more than a song, and its melody could heal When God came down from heaven above There was a light that reflected the wonder of this Son When God was born, it brought the miracle of love Filled the heart with peace that will never be outdone It feels like my heart might break from the knowing This love that silences every doubt, With assurance that His light is forever glowing Revealing the meaning, what life is all about When He came to earth, born a virgin birth There was love beyond compare, And I’ll never be able to say just what He is worth. He is the answer who came to prepare… He’s preparing hearts for the moment when He says “well done, my child”… welcome to your new home Where we will know the reason and forever praise He brought us to a place where we’ll never have to roam And, because of this King of Kings, We’re promised a love that keeps giving With faith and hope, our heart sings Assured that this is the reason we’re living! He is the way, the truth and the life. Through this love, we see His face. When He came to us as God’s sacrifice… We knew the wonder of His grace. While I still pray and know His conviction, Heaven is my hope, when my journey ends. This is the truth – it is completely non-fiction. When this life is over, my soul He defends. I don’t know the answers and I don’t always understand. But I know forever is in the Savior’s hands. Even though I don’t know, it’s all as God has planned. And, I’ll always believe in His sweet plans. I don’t know when the end will come. Or what, exactly, to expect when time has passed. I do know the love and peace that I came from, And I hope that, in the end, I’ll be with Him at last!
