 Sitting at an empty kitchen table, gazing upon fields under sheets of glistening ice, a blanket of silver grey mist rolling down the mountain side.

  I wonder of eyes where once flames of love burnt so bright and words no fire could warm so deep inside, now just a memory that leaves a taste sourer than a lemon slice.

  Of lips so sweet like that of freshly spun candy floss, of arms so strong and caring not unlike a mother protecting her young from all harm, now gladly gone not wanted back as much as a day under a summer sun.

  A smile that withheld hidden lies, till the signs became too much to ignore, for tears that fell on pillows in darkest nights, my sole company now is life like honey sweetened tea.

  You took me lower than a body laid in the ground, now I soar free like an eagle on high in cloudless skies. Oh the days trying to keep us side by side were so futile, now with pain all spent I see your game, twas nought but to keep me bound in chains and drive my mind insane. 

   Now from your jail I am free, shackles loose, no more breaking rocks for a one sided love.  Green leaves on branches the song of freedom rings, free at last a new life begins. Bye-bye, from your grasp my heart is now gone.
