Poem

Faces of color, faces of light, faces of love filled with delight
Faces looking extreme walking up and down street
Faces without puropose splashing in the stream
Faces of dignity, messing with my dreams
I can see your face running all over the screen
 
I have seen that face somewhere before
It was sulking and pressing against the glass door
With a peculiar smile filled with tears
And a strange look that tells the world you don’t care
But I still cannot tell from where that face originates.
 
It is the pain that you cannot see
It is the pain that you can only feel
It strikes you from everywhere and
Filled your heart with fear.
It travels up your spine and rest betwixt
your groin and anchor in your side
 And you have to hold on strong to survive.
 
Faces of hope walking up the stairs
Faces of freedom crying out everywhere
Faces for peace marching up the street
and faces of war gather in the square
with sticks and stones, guns and bullets
And the marching band with power in their hands
 
Faces loitering in the dark waiting for the music to start
There are some new faces in town and the entire city is moving around
Anxious faces, curious faces, stubborn faces stand straight
And friendly faces scrutinize him when he goes to the gym
While distant faces join in a solitary hymn
 
 Battered and bruised faces emerging out of the deep
Faces of joy running about in the street
Faces of passion bottle up with dreams
Faces of love merge with the heavens above
Faces are deceiving and fly around with the dove.
