Hollow

In shadows deep, I find myself ensnared,
A wanderer adrift, with naught but despair.
Each step I took, now lost to time’s cruel hand,
No trace remains of paths that once did stand.

Around me, silence reigns, a shroud so thick,
I search for guidance, yet find naught but the wick
Of hope extinguished, flickering dim and faint;
No guiding star, no whisper from a saint.

I sit in stillness, my heart a hollow drum,
Gazing into the void, where echoes come undone.
Not for the dawn do I yearn, nor the light’s gentle grace,
But for the angel of death to hasten my embrace.

To take me from this world, to end this weary strife,
To lead me to the silence, the sweet release of life.
For in this endless dark, my soul begins to fray,
And I long for peace, to fade and drift away.
