Line of inquiry: “we look for that light eternal that does not come and go the screen upon which life plays cognised in staid stillness slow” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Blanket of stars mask a dreary sky Haven of shadows, listening for the light Who will shelter the memories, the moments Concealed by a moon’s glow, softly recollecting What it means to grieve for the lost midnights, stardust Wings and blessings, the many things that make a heart Rest in the night, where fireflies delight and trembling dew Leaves its sigh over the gently glowing lights, the starlit dusk, Twilight insights…. Dancing limbs on oaks and pines Leave the spirit feeling more alive, more in love With the peaceful smiles of wildflowers and sun’s glow Blowing in the winds, still as grace and wonderfully alive Aching to show the world what it means to give tranquility Peace beyond words, falling over a lonely world, sanctifying Slowly pouring out the music of love, the song that quiets the dark The intimacy that rides on the stars, softly swaying in the distant thoughts….. Breathless melodies shudder in the night Silent dreams, softly flowing on the edge of light Glowing, growing, knowing what is more than right Fresh as the moon’s warmth, lustrous as the sun’s truth Never afraid of what it is to radiate the comfort of a prayer Always alive, always a part of this life’s sharing from the seas Who listen to the silence and remember the waves who beat Across the sands, the beaches in their eagerness to warm hearts Eager to show the world what its like to love beyond the darkness To love like God has taught us… Starlight releases the tears, dew heavy Caressing the wind, erasing the fears, the tears With light that comes from the one who knows Him The reason for the joy, the hope that covers a life’s dark With light that strews its steady hand over the dimmest grief Silencing the stars who wink like fireflies in the June breeze, sweet As the inkling of a kiss beyond the stars, where the moon remembers It is only September who desires the night’s laughing eyes, so very wise…. Twilight gentle spreads its gentle On seas of souls who see His spirit In the wind, in the sea, on the mountains In the birds, in the trees, on the autumn leaves, In the silence, in the storm, on the quiet of nightfall In the light, in the dawn, on the morning’s gasping love In the twilight, where light speaks of One who is known For His gift of forgiveness, His gift of hope, His gift of love That forever knows… Despite the darkness, despite the night We have a light that glows throughout life A love that is brighter than the evening, night Can never dim the glow of this love that just knows Whatever God blesses with His love, His only Son, Jesus Even the night cannot discourage those who remember this “God is love and His light is forever near… His light, dear one, is a light that forever lives, A love that forever gives the soul it’s eternal bliss.” Twilight’s song sings on and on
