Poem

 

I was walking in sweet tranquility along a forest stream,
it was a lovely day with bright sun shining
the tall trees swayed in the breeze, whispering
and birds were singing and butterflies were fluttering
I stopped to enjoy the coolness of a stream
dipping my toes into rippling water
so serene that I did not notice the sun was fading away
and the forest had changed to one of dark shadows
I knew that I must find the path out but could not find it
walking in what seemed to be circles
in reality I was totaly lost . . . 
then, it seemed that the forest was talking to me
there was an echo that sounded like my mother's voice
a repeating of sounds familiar to my heart
it was faint as though filtered and then more intense at times
as though coming from a different frequency perhaps
a trickle that had penetrated to this earthly realm
from Heaven above
the voice was telling me to follow
so, I began to run towards mother's voice
and found the path out of the forest
people told me it was just the echo of the trees in the wind
but, I will always believe it was mother's voice
