Poem
“on an as is where is basis we choose descent of consciousness into the gross then we rise again following heart’s muse higher than where stood, bearing love’s cross” When I see others getting much ahead of me, And ascending the ladder of success one by one, I wonder why I am descending lower and lower, Get struck down by the crushing blows of life, And why fail in everything I undertake, Though I have been striving hard for so long. I see I am far away from my destination And there is no finish line in view. Why day by day, I grow desperate and lonelier? Why of all the people, I alone am dumped in to the pit? I have been asking this question for long And desperately looking for an answer. I heard someone whisper- “reach out to people, Look into your consciousness, shatter ego Humble yourself, follow your heart’s muse, Carry love’s cross, see nature in a new light” A wave of energy coursed through my veins. Suddenly I had in me a yearning, so concrete, For a beginning, a new beginning To fill my heart with love, to see beauty around, Fleeing away and darting out of hazy shadows. I decided to look for the landscape never explored, Feast upon the colors of the rainbow, Feel the cool breeze upon my face, Bathe in the raindrops that splatter down, Get ensnared by the breathtaking view of the sunset. I lifted my face up and looked into the sky, Reveling in its aquamarine shade, Stellar fragments afloat in the immensity of space, And the beauty and briskness of the sailing clouds. I looked at nature and saw its variety as never before. Once I filled my heart with love, I learnt, That despite dark days and stormy hours Love has the power to rewrite our destiny. It may demand sacrifices and pain, Yet bearing the cross makes our journey worthwhile. Now as a voyager upon life’s sea, I meet with storms and face the turbulent waves. But I strive to be brave of heart and strong of arm. Even when the world is cold and dark, I have learnt to keep an aim in view. I now know that this path I am on, Of self- discovery, faith, love and hope Will eventually, lead me to joy and inner peace. Like a butterfly that emerges from the cocoon’s bind, I will soar and ascend higher and higher!
