cosy and cooing, nestled up with kin
you'd think it'd stop bad thoughts getting in
but I step off to the side, get isolated
start overthinking, get quite captivated 
it's like I'm an expert on self attack
set my eye on the prize and don't look back
now here I am all beaten and bruised
this behaviour really shouldn't be excused
look at the others, happy and content 
I don't like this path, I wish to circumvent 
snuggle up for the night, let my head clear 
oh how sad I am when I find myself here
I can't decompress, I'm wound up so tight
trying too hard to get everything right
rest feels impossible, sleep is quite fleeting
I bash heads with myself upon every meeting
what might I do to reverse this trend
settle my nerves, calmness mend
it's like I'm self loathing tied up in a bow
I shouldn't discuss it, no one need know
I'll read a book, maybe meditate
eradicate my feel bad fate
shut myself up with a stern warning 
try an early night, maybe feel better in the morning
