Song lyrics with Poem pieced in. © Artimus The Poet Susan Manley 11-24-2024 All Rights Reserved #Sunomusic #ArtimusThePoet [Musical Introduction] [Verse] It came to me in waves... and over the days... to join in this song... the sway of the sea is so strong! A mute companion of the waves That toss within their moonlit graves - Is it a king, or but a girl? And, all the while, she sings and sings, And waves her wild white hands with glee, Mysterious sister of the world, That singing water called the sea. [Chorus] A sirens song... She calls them in... Upon the rocks... they crash within... their final days... caught in their daze... mixed up in the whispers of her sweet lullabys... they spend tokens of their lives... with completely open eyes! In the long shimmer of the Sound... May I some day be laughing found,... Part of its restless to and fro,... A humble worker of the tides... That round the sleepless planet flow,... And in the rock and drift of things -... (O how the sea-weed sways and swings! Is it her hair - has she been found... In the long shimmer of the Sound!) [Musical Interlude] [Sound of a wave crashing on a shoreline] [Verse] This pervasive feeling unfolds... a world unfathomable I behold... as we reach for the stars... the depths still unexplored!! Silent rocky shores... the siren holds... countless sailors approach... and never arrive alive... Do some small task I do not know - O maybe help the mussel grow, Or tint the shell-imprisoned pearl - A mute companion of the waves.. That toss within their moonlit graves... Is it a king, or but a girl? And, all the while, she sings and sings... And waves her wild white hands with glee... Mysterious sister of the world... That singing water called the sea... (O tell me was this sea-weed found In the long shimmer of the Sound!) [Chorus] A sirens song... She calls them in... Upon the rocks... they crash within... their final days... caught in their daze... mixed up in the whispers of her sweet lullabies... they spend tokens of their lives... but with completely open eyes! In the long shimmer of the Sound... May I some day be laughing found,... Part of its restless to and fro,... A humble worker of the tides... That round the sleepless planet flow,... And in the rock and drift of things -... (O how the sea-weed sways and swings! Is it her hair - has she been found... In the long shimmer of the Sound!) [Musical Interlude] [Sound of a wave crashing on a shoreline] [verse] In all the universe... all the travels of the bard... She graces poems of near and far... with flowing verses aplomb and so stark... The words they come... they bubble up... and seize the day... take over the page... earn respect and amaze.. [Chorus] A sirens song... She calls them in... Upon the rocks... they crash within... their final days... caught in their daze... mixed up in the whispers of her sweet lullaby'... they spend tokens of their lives... but with completely open eyes! In the long shimmer of the Sound. [Outro] [Vocals Fading] Their final voyage run aground their final voyage run aground.... The shimmer pervasive sound.... Shimmer sound,,, [vocals whispered] shimmer shimmer [Sound of a wave hitting the shore] [End}
