It's been a year
and you have gone to rest
and I have done my best
to move on

I met someone
and he is amazing
but he is busy with life
so I am just star-gazing

You know me
I motor on
I have spent a lifetime
mostly alone

I look out 
at opportunities
with want
and occasionally need

But I refuse to budge
or even respond to nudges
of what others think I should do
I think of him and you

If I don't get that kind of vibe
I know they aren't my tribe
and my spirit would not survive
I can adapt alone provide

It can just be me


I can be here for me 

I can do what I want

whatever I need

I can step out

If I please

But mostly there is no need

I have you both in my heart
