Are you happy there in heaven 
Or is it all just a fantasy 
Do you enjoy the angels singing
While forgetting about me

As you walk around in your flowing robes 
Is your mind in a state of bliss 
Or do you look down on the living 
And cry out for those you miss

With your heart so filled with joy 
Has your brain been turned to mush 
Are you free from controlling people 
And all the buttons that they push 

I'm not so sure I want to be 
A mindless singing ghost 
Who goes on for endless days
Chanting praises to the host 

I'd hope instead to have a task
Visiting planets near and far
Exploring every galaxy 
And chasing every  star 

Cause I'm not one for singing 
Or bowing on my knee 
I'd hope when this life ends
My spirit would be free

But I'm told to blindly follow 
Ask no questions and simply trust
Ignore the smoke and mirrors
As obedience is a must

It's said that I'm not smart enough 
To know how great it will be  
But the preacher better bring... 
Stronger logic than that
When selling that crap to me 

If you take away my memories 
While washing away my pain 
Remove my desires and fantasies , 
And suppress my hopes for gain 

There'll be nothing left of who I was 
The parts that made me me 
With this mind of many questions 
And the joys of my humanity  

There was a time when I had great faith 
As many of you now do
I preached the word and prayed deep prayers 
And believed it all was true 

But I see now it's just a lie 
To fool the people and give them hope 
Forget the misery  of their daily life 
And somehow help them cope 

With the crappy lives they now accept 
The fact they've been controlled 
Held in place and taught to serve
To do as they've been told 

When you die you die that'll be the end 
They'll dig a hole and toss you in
Don't waste your time trying to pretend 
There is no hell there is no sin
