Poem
“God’s grace has a drenching about it. A wildness about it. A white-water, riptide, turn-you-upside-downness about it. Grace comes after you. It rewires you. From insecure to God secure. From regret-riddled to better-because-of-it. From afraid-to-die to ready-to-fly. Grace is the voice that calls us to change and then gives us the power to pull it off.” - Max Lucado, Grace: More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine It was still, while rain fell – drenching rain, soaking Even the silence, with wetness Moist thoughts, winds blowing, whooshing Through the oaks and pines, darkness Surrounding the screams of a breathless story, Spoken in broken words, voices heavy with hurting. The sky was raging, bleeding desperation, Full of showers, melting away the memories of sunlight, Reflecting the attack of a rain so violent it feels fierce, Intense as the fires who can defeat all the dreams, Powerful, like a word warring with tomorrow’s mystery, Burning, black as the bitterness in the still shadows. It was frantic, furious and filled with a fury unknown before The moment when it told us all it was the storm Who would change it all,… Leave a world of chaos, a world so dark and forlorn, Like a silence – the calm after the storm would never come. It was worn on the hope, but it was dawn and the world It was a world of chaos, a world so dark and forlorn… A world, a war, raining down the breathless ache, a cloudy Sky, meant to reveal, all the devastation, the news, On in the evening, for those who can see, clearly revealed, The moments, unfolding, revelations – so real, Revelations – so very clear, the end is near, let us hear The song of grace, poured out, so we might face, These final days, with assurance and praise, to amaze, Promises, exposed by the music in the rain, The unending way, eternity filled with the light that craves, Love that is forever awake, love that will forever praise and praise. Love that is His, because He made a way for us to say, Love came down to save the souls who agree, it is love that will always believe. It is love that saves souls from all the storms that destroy hopes and dreams, Storms so wild they feel like the voice of fear – but He is always near, And He can always hear the prayers we speak, the psalms we sing, the love, That comes to life in the words of our praise – love that will amaze.
