We are hunkered down again as we watch the land cry evacuation gathering medication pets helping others as neighbors become first responders helping others checking on elderly residents rather Charlie Lisa Francis Hugo dean Katrina Irma Maria Ian Helene now Milton debris clean up power outage floods we continue helping others rebuilding communities who are we why we are Floridians facing hurricanes devastated yes filled with compassion and faith prayers and more prayers steadfast filling sandbags to prevent flood damage as this new monster brews the Gulf of Mexico the Caribbean and into coastal waters hitting land wild animals scurrying about wind ripping boards glass crashing vehicles stalled out pile ups of people evacuating the state many looking for shelter many trying to reach families or unknown lands on higher ground many stay and ride out the storm coast guards national guards Fema Red Cross on land and a sea pray for our first responders schools churches open doors food banks supplies feeding Tampa bay metropolitan ministries American legions we come together over the state of Florida bringing security safety comfort warmth from the storm although we haven’t seen a storm like this for one hundred years colorful spaghetti strings covers the screen following the the storm’s pathways finally the eye of the storm emerges for category strength rather five four three two one we remain pent up palm trees sway cypress trees crack boats are abandoned pets scurry fort Myers beach embraces the wrath what about Disney Busch Gardens the animals amazing first responders team while Mickey Mouse ears abode Miami fill in sink holes watching over beach front towers for weak structures developers tarp buildings as one hundreds year old trees able to withstand hurricanes part of our natural resources have been replaced for more condos we really should save these historic trees young trees take over sixty years to actually sway and save the animals including property the trees actually act as lightning rods withstanding lightning beautiful to watch nature these tall palms the old ones help coast the hurricane tropical weather continue back out to sea buildings can’t do that from the storms trees watch out for marine life dolphins manatees sea turtles rescue shelters in place as we keep filling sandbags we keep our faith prepare to rebuild our communities and the State of Florida back God Bless our Florida leaders Our Governor his family our families Mayor Castor her family that’s what Florida is all about God bless America stay safe take shelter protect your families hunker down Prayers for Florida Save the Trees
