Poem
The last of my final hour I look around the room and spot my children He is arguing argumentatively with his sister and flailing his hands in the air Everyone is going on about my death as if it was something happening to them Love has been their sustenance in their life, yet they fight like cat and dog All of life continues" I say to myself in a whisper that only God hears Some people live their lives as if they own the right, never giving thanks Truth be told, I am tired and ready to go into the arms of my loving Father. Thirsty for a cup of water earth cannot provide I turn into water Hurry Father take me home. Don't make me wait any longer" I try and catch their eye but all I see is energy matter swirling, red as fire. Rising out of my mouth a silver string fine hair traveling up towards the ceiling Thunder claps in my ears, my heart flatlines. I'm floating up above my body You were never there for her," he sputters accusingly with red angry eyes. Noone ever loved them better then I, like two scared little souls Inching away from the world they bicker as if I wasn't there. Nab me a star, sit me on top of it, send me to heaven, set my heart aglow Everything in the room turns bright light and an Angel stands beside me Minutes, seconds, milliseconds, I pirouettes and the body turns cold Icons of my two children, reflections of our happy lives together arrive Nurturing moments soft as God's caress, I wish I could remember more. Uncut versions of them playing in the yard, Monarch butterflies in jars. Trust the other I whisper under my breath as they towards my bed Each one looks at me as if I were a ghost from another time. Then suddenly, Something soft and feathery lands at their feet, " A feather, from thin air" Oracle moments on the heart, all obscure go away I recall the life we shared Frost accumulates on the window, and a very strong wind begins to blow My life, my children, me, all vanishes the moon and the stars, its morning Yielding harps of Angels in the heavens, I am summoned so I go. Love is the key to the Kingdom of heaven, they both know that. l know this to be true, like that first glance of a newborn child Faith will take them on a spiritual journey, I say to God as I watch them both Eager to go to the light I embrace them gently, then I let go.
