Poem
As the sun peeps over the beguiling hill, I held my breath and kept still, I thought I heard a knocking and whisper but I could not tell from where it was coming from, I tiptoed towards the window and peeped through the little hole outside the grill but nothing was there except for the two happy dogs one old and one young running up and down the corridor looking for their supper and I felt as if my emotions betrayed me. I was waiting for someone that was not there and it has caused my heart to fear, and I felt the morning creeping slowly up my spine and whispers get a little louder and the resistance becomes stronger. “You are a wonderful person, and you are mine” the words came bellowing from the roof. I leaped towards the door and opened it but no one was there and my spirit began to melt, an age old promise came back to haunt me, I was never attracted to anybody and I allow my spirit to guide me. Oh promises of the sun why do you come back to send me on the run, you have tendered your warmth around me and elevate my energy, you have drawn billions around and you have place me on a pedestal in the middle of the sea, everyone is swimming towards me, ships and boats from everywhere are coming in droves and millions of them have docked out on every shore with passengers waiting in line to be picked up by helicopters and hot balloon to land on the surface of love. Oh promises of the sun I can feel your energy in the debts of the sea, how much longer must I wait for thee? I have tarried for more than thirty years with thee searching for that human dignity; you have stripped me of every kind of hope and left me dry and empty to appease your broken mind with false promises of love and salvation that resonate from above. I have experience life for myself and I have watched you walking in burning hell, with battered dreams of yesterday and a myriad of false promises for today and I watched you slowly fading away, with a heart of steel and a ego that is wrapped with zeal, sometimes I clenched my fist and throw my hands in the air to let it go so that I can complete this cycle and continue my journey where destiny will go. You have made promise of a better life but those words cut deeply through me like cold ice, you run around seducing the people at nights with your saucy tongue and your sugar filled gum, and I could not resist the empathy, sometimes I am sadden by the memory of your promises and the anger it creates when you stand at the gate I am bolder than before and I have conquered the habitual darkness that swept over the floor, the light is still hanging over my head and the promised you made when you are lying in bed is creating mutiny in my head. Oh, promises of the sun, the moon and the stars are waiting for waiting for thee, the meeting is set for the side of the sea, and the promise you make must materialize before it is too late. oh, promises of the sea how much my heart yearns for thee.
