Droplets fall at the existence of my anxiety 
Around every corner I’m drowning 
A new wave crashing over me
I feel the warmth of a gentle hand
“Its ok my little songbird”

I feel the anger taking over me
Flashing of rage that have control of me
I hit the wall but it hits back
Blood and tears trickle as I bite my lip
I feel the presence of a kind soul
“Its ok my little songbird”

The friday night lights
 but something doesn’t feel right
Mother runs
Father stays
No gentle hand 
no kind soul

The sirens ring out 
I feel like I’m choking 
They take you away
I sit in the dark 
In the void of nothing
No gentle hand
 no kind soul

The birds sing their morning song
But they sing in a melancholy tone
They feel the absence
 as much as me
They know somethings missing
The worlds off key

The light haze covers the room
I stand in shock 
Hovering over you
I turn in fear 
My face gets hot
They make me look
I cannot 
I will not

The gentle drizzle falls from the sky
The world seems to stop
As we say goodbye
I walk away in complete silence
“It's ok little songbird”

No 
It’s not the same
They say it to me thinking it would help
It just reminds of the void

The bright lights hit my face
I smile as I hear the crowd cheer my name
My dream was to make you proud 
But when I sing 
I remember you’re not around 
What happened to
 you will always stay
You’re here for me
It will all be ok
As I stand and feel the heat from above
It reminds me that I’m missing your love 
It screams that no matter what
I can’t outrace the feeling of death
I wait for you to say 
What you always did to make me feel safe
But you’re not there 
The silence is so prominent I can almost hear it
It screams telling my story
No gentle hand 
No kind soul
Just a lonely little songbird
