Poem
There are times in life where you may think life is not fair just because to you things are not working out the way you want them to. During that time you may not be able to fully understand the process as the pieces of your journey is being connected, but I say to you, continue holding on to the God rail. There are times when what the doctor says can alter your mood, your thinking, your attitude, or even your life. But I say to you, do not be discouraged. Whether what the doctor said was good or bad, always remember, God is in control. Keep your mind and focus on Him and continue holding on to the God rail. In life you will have highs and lows, ups and downs, heartbreaks and heartaches, times of uncertainty and disappointments, but I say to you, through it all, continue holding on to the God rail. One of the toughest times you will be tested is during your bereavement. That will be a time more than ever that you will have to hold on to your God rail. The God rail is you holding on to God’s hand as He navigates you through the winds and storms and the sunshine and beauty of life. In every way and everyday, hold on tight to God’s everlasting love and His loving hand and know that His Son Jesus Christ will carry you up and over the humps and hurdles so you are never alone. How I came up with this title was me experiencing a time when the doctors told me I had severe arthritis, bone on bone, no cartilage, I needed knee surgery… blah, blah, blah. I had inflammation in my knee so bad I could barely walk up the 3 flights of stairs to my apartment. I had to hold on tight to the guard rail. I use to say, “Why I gotta hold on to this guard rail?” But then one day, I changed my mindset. I had a “Wowed” moment. I said, “Know what? In the natural it looks like I’m holding on to the guard rail, but in my spirit I’m holding on to the GOD rail.” Wow! What better hand to hold. Thinking of it that way brought me so much relief and strength. Well, I’m glad to say, since I have been doing something as simple as “grounding,” the inflammation is gone. The swelling is gone! No more knee braces, injections, pain medication, ice packs, compression socks, knee creams and NO surgery needed! Also keep in mind the most important thing and that is, there is POWER in prayer. Now mind you, grounding worked for me, but you must do what is best fit for you. And even though I can walk up the steps without holding on, I still find myself holding on to that God rail just as a reminder that I am holding on to God. From my experience, it made me reflect on other times in life when I was holding on to the God rail without even knowing I was holding on to the God rail. God’s rail has always been there for you, you just got to know when to reach out and grab hold to it. Even when times are happy and life is great, the children are great, your finances are great, you have all the things your heart so desire, your home is a place of peace, favor is upon you and the sun is shining bright, even then I say to you, don’t lose sight, continue to hold on tight to the God rail. God your heart, God your mind, God your steps and never let your God down. And remember, no matter what life throws at you, continue holding on to the God rail and always know, God got you!
