Poem
In the cavern of my chest, a heart does dwell, Once robust and merry, now ensnared in hell. A splintering heart, a jagged shard, Once whole and bright, now darkly marred. Each pulse a quake, a sharp, searing pain, A symphony of sorrow, a mournful refrain. The edges of the past, they cut so keen, A constant sting, where love has been. As memories whisper, soft on fragile wing, They bring the echoes of the joy they'd bring. Promises broken, like brittle glass, Leaving behind a shattered mass. Love's fragile vessel, now cracked and torn, A delicate bloom, forever forlorn. The light within, a flickering flame, Threatened by shadows, calling out its name. Yet, even in darkness, a flicker remains, A hope that whispers, through the echoing strains. For hearts, though shattered, can mend anew, With time's soft passage, and love's gentle dew. So let the fragments fall, and settle low, In the depths of sorrow, a seed will grow. And from the ashes, a stronger soul, Will rise again, making the broken whole. Though pain may linge, and tears may flow, The heart's resilience is a wondrous show. In the quiet of the night's embrace, A healing rhythm, it starts to chase. And with each beat that grows more strong, The splintering heart finds where it belongs. For in the end, it's through the breaks we see, The light that shines, sets our hearts free. A jagged shard, once a piercing sting, Becomes a jewel, in the crown of spring. A testament to love, to pain, to life, A splintering heart, emerging from strife.
