I got some bad news the other day
Heart failure immenint, his genes at play 
While the doctor was talking to me
All I could think was why god me

But then I sat and had a thought
It's genes at play, it's not my fault
But here is where the problem starts
My whole life has been a deck of cards

52 pick up,  the game my life's been
Constantly battling to make sure I win
But sadly iv never been able to finish up top
I'll play snap next time, my life's been a flop

Back to the doctor and what he said
Every word filled me with dread
Scans and medicine to see me through 
Open heart surgery? Don't mind if I do

I put the phone down and looked to the sky
A moment of peace before my decline 
Shock hit me first, one fierce punch
Then anger took over, and this was all before lunch!!

I tried to act normal, get on with my day 
Even though I knew things were about to change 
Everywhere I went all I saw was red
So many emotions going on in my head

The days that have followed have killed me inside
Memories resurfaced, even the ones I tried to hide
What's hit me the hardest and torn me apart
Is the fact no one has loved me, it's broke my heart 

My mother only loves herself 
My father he can rot in hell 
My stepdad despised me, a angry man
Lies and deciet as soon as my life began 

Since the doctor called my head's been a mess
My heart cannot take all this stress 
Lying in bed, body aching
My life been leading up to this, I can't stop shaking

What's on it's way I do not know
But I tell you what it will make a great show
Lies and heartbreak my whole life has been 
Maybe this heart problem will be the making of me

A deck of cards many ways you can play 
The deck is shuffled, dealt, lets take it away

Iv played my hand, I'm not a threat
I'm ready to play all those I have met
This game began the day I was born 
The winner decided while the losers mourn

The doctor called me the other day
My heart is failing, his genes to blame
Life based on a lie, the irony glaring 
That's what you get with a mother so uncaring

Battle lines drawn, it can go either way
One thing though I can guarantee 
Is when I go down I'm taking you with me
